Jason Witten Returns To The Playing Field

On Thursday, Jason Witten decided to leave the broadcast booth and return to the football field. After spending 15 seasons with the Cowboys, Witten signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with them. He served as the Monday Night Football analyst for ESPN during the 2018 NFL Season. Some might say that ESPN paid Witten's contract for the Cowboys just to leave ESPN. He certainly wasn't a crowd favorite for those watching MNF. This makes you think if ESPN told him to get lost or if Witten's comment about the want to compete is true. Although he has been with the Cowboys squad for so many years and then one year without them. Maybe he just can't get away from the Cowboys. It might also be true that he wants to eventually coach for his beloved team, and this is the first step in doing so. Whatever the case is, the Cowboys got a back up veteran tight end and ESPN is in need of a new MNF analyst. Could be a blessing for ESPN, or possibly worse? We'll see.

Kyle Busch Sets NASCAR Truck Series all time Win Record

Image
Whenever Kyle Busch straps into a Gander Outdoors Series Truck, he is always a strong threat for the victory. Saturday night in Atlanta was no different, except this win came with added historical significance. Busch’s Atlanta triumph was his 52nd career Truck Series victory. This breaks a tie he had with Hall of Famer Ron Hornaday, Jr. for the Truck Series all time wins leader. Busch Becomes Wins Leader in Multiple Series as He Chases 200 With his 52nd career win, Busch stands alone atop the Truck Series’ all time wins list. This is in addition to his status as the all time Xfinity Series wins leader. Busch has held this Xfinity record since 2011. To date overall, the younger Busch brother has 52 Truck wins, 92 Xfinity wins, and 51 Cup Series victories, to total 195 combined NASCAR wins. Kyle is quickly approaching the 200 wins mark. Upon passing it, Busch would technically be the all time winningest NASCAR national series driver, overtaking Richard Petty’s 200 Cup Series

Reason for Celtics struggles and Who's to blame

Image
The Celtics have really struggled recently, losing the last 4 straight games including one to the Chicago Bulls who are currently 13th in the standings with a record of 17 and 45, only 3 games a head of the abysmal Cleveland  Cavaliers. This was a team coming in to the season that was expected to run rough shot through the Eastern Conference because of the Celtics performance last year when Jayson Tatum, Jaylon Brown, Terry Rozier and the rest of the team stepped up and became a real force in the league including almost getting to the finals. With Gordon Hayward coming back and Kyrie Irving on the roster as the star, it looked like a Warriors vs Celtics finals matchup was inevitable, but this year has been nothing but turmoil and questions for the Celtics. And all of it could be attributed to Kyrie Irving. Chemistry between players has waivered more and more as the season goes on. Marcus Morris even said that playing with the Celtics is " Not fun anymore" and it shows w

When and Where is Bryce Harper Going to Sign?

Spring training has begun and we are still asking the same question, when is someone going to sign Bryce Harper? The questions impact and urgency has increased even more with Machado signing with the Padres for $300 million over 10 years as well as the massive extension that Nolan Arenado has now signed with the Rockies for the next 8 years for $260 million. Since the beginning, Harper has been linked to the Phillies for all of the offseason and yet, he still remains unsigned even those it is clear that there are teams interested in bringing him in. Its incredible that a player of his caliber has been linked on and off with so many times and manages to remain unsigned. We see this with other big name free agents too that still remain unsigned, such as Craig Kimbrel and Dallas Keuchel that still remain unsigned despite their talent that so many teams in the league could benefit from bringing onto their team. With the big moves occurring within the NL West, I wouldn't be surprised

JD Gibbs' Legacy Honored in Historic Daytona 500 Performance by Joe Gibbs Racing

Only a month after the untimely passing of Joe Gibbs Racing president JD Gibbs, 3 of their Toyota Camrys took the top 3 spots in the Daytona 500. This JGR 1-2-3 sweep was led by Denny Hamlin, who was discovered by the late JD. This win also breaks a long losing streak for Hamlin, as he did not win in 2018. Coming into the Daytona 500, everyone’s focus was placed on the Ford teams. The new Mustang cars were lightning fast in preliminary races, and when working together, seemed to be unbeatable. However, it was 2 Chevrolets from Hendrick Motorsports who led the field to the green flag. The Camaros of William Byron and Alex Bowman paced the opening laps of the Daytona 500 and the 2019 NASCAR season. Lap 11 would be a tribute lap to the late JD Gibbs. On January 11th, the eldest son of Joe Gibbs and former president of Joe Gibbs Racing passed away after a neurological condition. Teams honored him by holding up a flag asking fans to visit  JDGibbsLegacy.com . After a crazy last fe

Can the Lakers bounce back after All-Star Break

Image
With the All-Star Break currently underway this weekend players and teams are able relax, recover, and most importantly, regroup in order to prepare for the second leg of the season goes underway. Coaches and organizations have the opportunity's to make plans expound on the success that they have had coming into the break, or make some serious changes to their teams gameplans, personal and lines ups. But a team that will have to take the latter approach to preparing for the second half of the season are the Los Angeles Lakers. LA has been in utter disarray every since Anthony Davis announced that he wants out of New Orleans. The All-Star Power Forward is one of the top 5 best players in the NBA, and his request to be traded not only form the Pelicans, but also stating to wanting to be sent to LA before the trade deadline sent the Lakers in to a frenzy. For 10 days the Lakers worked to give any offer they could in order to gain Davis and pair him with Lebron. Magic Johnson

Manchester United Coaching Crisis

Back in 2013, Sir Alex Furgeson, the legendary manager of Manchester United coached his final game for the club. In all the Scotsman coached 1500 games for the club starting in 1986 and his success was never put in question when looking back on his career. Winning over 38 trophies in his spell with the club Sir Alex is held as one of the greatest managers in soccer history. Sir Alex left the club with who he thought was the best man for the job, fellow countryman, David Moyes. Moyes signed a 6-year contract with the team. That was a mistake. Moyes was in charge for under a year before he was sacked. Since then United has had 4 managers, including a short spell by Ryan Giggs as caretaker manager, and none of them have lasted a full three seasons. This holds true for the latest manager to get the boot, Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese manager is another all-time great having success in 3 leagues in Europe, Serie A in Italy, the English Premier League, and La Liga in Spain. Despite the succe

Are Chad Knaus, William Byron a New Dynamic Duo?

Image
7-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship crew chief Chad Knaus had a major change over this off-season. Rather than returning to the 48 team and veteran driver Jimmie Johnson, Knaus will take on a mentorship role for a young driver at Hendrick Motorsports, William Byron. The career that would eventually lead to 7 titles with Jimmie Johnson started for Chad Knaus back in the mid-1990s. Knaus was part of another dynasty, the famed 'Rainbow Warriors' 24 pit crew for Jeff Gordon. After several years on the 24 crew, Knaus was paired with then-rookie Johnson for the 2002 season. Success was near-immediate for Johnson and Knaus. They won their first pole position in their first start together, the 2002 Daytona 500. Over the next 17 seasons, they would win 83 races and a record-tying 7 championships with each other. However, Johnson and Knaus would split following 2018, their first winless season. Johnson would get a new, rookie crew chief in Kevin Meendering. Meanwhile,
