Madness Follow Up

Well, its all over. The tables and chairs have been collected, the dance is over. This dance did not end with a slow song. The University of Virginia has made history in the tournament two years in a row, for two different reasons. You may remember last years tournament when the number one overall team, the University of Virginia, became the first team in tournament history to lose in the first round to a 16 seed. This year, Virginia entered the tournament with similar accolades and was once again the number one team in the land. This year, they flipped the switch and took it all the way playing the "cinderella" Texas Tech in the finals. Cinderella was by no means, easy. Texas Tech regained the lead with minutes left until a Kyle Guy clutch 3 point shot put the biggest game of the year in overtime. Virginia regained control of the game and became national champions for the first time.

In what started off as the most predictable tournament in years, so predictable that someone still had a perfect bracket going into the second round, ended up being a race to the finish. As the one seeds fell, only one remained and the University of Virginia ended up on top.
